Wild River Air Rifle - USARB Report Indoors March 11 , 2015

A total of 9 shooters filled the indoor range, our largest turnout for the year. Lots of 250’s were shot, but none by Ron. However, consistency won the day in HV today as Ron took first place without a 250 by 1 X over Chris. Dick Strever is learning the ins and outs of his Thomas in LV, and Gary Palmer shot a nice Production score considering he did it off of a pile of front sandbags. It was great to have Oliver back! Note, placement was determined by only 1 point in many cases. Competition was tough!

Yep. I understand he is sending targets to Joe.

Being the only one always puts you in first place

I figured out a long time ago that the only way I would ever be competitive in anything would be if I was the only one competing. When the new Spring/Piston and Production classes came along I figured that if I was the first to submit targets, it would have to be a record. Thus, my 15 minutes of fame has started! Will only last as long as it takes someone else to submit targets. The classes will probably go away due to lack of participation anyway. How's that for a half full glass.

Staying in 5th place

Well Gary, it's nice to see someone making headway and setting some records.

I've been in 5th place as long as I can remember... it's tough shooting against a bunch of FWB P70's and guys with 10 or more years of experience.

When I started this game I was typically in 5th place (usually last place) and with time, experience, equipment upgrades, better barrels and methods I've slowly moved up from the 720's through the 730's into the mid 740's staying in 5th place. The way things are improving in this sport it looks like I'll need to shoot 750's with at least 40X to stay in 5th place in the near future.
