Why isn't my message working?

This is infuriating!!!!

I logged onto this system, then immediately after, I wrote a long message about the choices of boron nitride, tungsten disulfide, and molybdenum disulfide, which took some time and considerable effort. When I tried to send it, I got a result from this system that told me that I'm not logged on, and I lost my entire message!!! Now I have to try to write that message again!?!?

How in the heck can a guy submit a complicated message on this forum? How can I recover my already-written message?

Note Pad / Word

Yes this happens..............

Typically for me it's just fat fingering..........

For long thought out replys or new threads...
Start it in Windows Word or Note Pad and save it periodically as ya write it.
Save it ... Open a new thread/start a reply.. Then drag Copy it with your mouse to the text window and done.

JMOP... Works fer me.

I have that happen to me every time I post because I am s-l-o-w, and I often get interrupted with that silly work thing. I just re-enter my logon info, hit enter, and I am back to my post....I don't loose anything. I have never lost anything.

Do it up in a word document ... view and edit it... and save it on your computer first...

... then all you have to do is copy and paste...

Thanks, guys. I'll find some time again, take a big breath, & try to type it again.

Cut & Paste

I have noticed that folks are able to cut and paste here but I have not been able to figre out how to do it. Could you explain it to me please Thanks.

Highlight the text you want to copy. Then hold down the ctrl key while pressing the c key, now you have the text copied. Click on reply then with the curser in the text reply box hold down ctrl key and press the v key.
You also can right click on the highlighted text and select copy in the popup window and right click on the text reply box and select paste from the popup window.

I find that this happens alot when I push "post' - I then get the vBulletin Message log in page .
As Tod mentioned I just log back in at that point and my message is then posted on the thread.

Of course when the kitten walks across the key board - my post disappears immediately !

It worked!! I just added my long post to the "Randy Robinette - where did we buy boron nitride" thread. I was in Word, typed the message, highlighted the text of the Word message, went back into Benchrest Central, into the relevant thread, added my reply, put my cursor into the beginning of the Reply to Thread" message field, then did the Ctrl-V thing. That inserted the Word text into this forum. Whew!
