Why Group or Score ????

I have read on this forum a few times that " ammo that shoots the smallest group may not shoot the best score".

Does anyone have an idea why ?

There is a lot to learn in the world of .22 rimfire !!!

Yep, it's the shooter or his setup. Note one shooter said he had ammo that was more sensitive to the wind but shot better groups than the other ammo that shot better score. That's not the ammo friend, that's the shooter. It's easier for him to shoot the more forgiving ammo. Sometimes, it's the setup. One piece rests help a lot with this. I recommend you call my old buddy James Pappas for that solution. Although other people do make them, his is the workhorse.

Sometimes the ammo that shoots the best groups will have a flyer every now and then.
I perfer an ammo with out flyers however it may not shoot the best groups. I look for the ammo that doesn't have flyers and shoots a consistent pattern. Hard to fine !

Madrox,
Your 6 words are the best advice I have seen on this forum since Stump left!

"Yep, it's the shooter or his setup."

It would be great if some of the 'true shooters' would come back and maybe give some thoughts or insight like you did! However, most have decided it was not worth the effort since this forum has turned into a blog for the girls or just another ‘Face Book’
Thanks for trying,
Doug
