Who here is from Houston

I am looking for someone to shoot with. I am getting back into shooting and do not know anyone else in Houston that likes to shoot. Years ago when I was shooting I had a few friends that liked to go to the range and shoot as well, makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. Now that I have relocated to Houston I just do not know anyone that shoots, if there is anyone in Houston that is looking for someone to go shoot with please let me know. I have always been one that beleives you learn something from everyone you meet, anything I can learn about this sport we love the better.

Could you narrow it down a little?

I imagine you'll be inundated with PMs but I thought I'd answer here.

Houston is, as I'm sure you're discovering, a huge place. Houston could theoretically annex everything from the Gulf to Dallas and in years past they've demonstrated a willingness to do some not-inconsequential percentage of that. Add in the lack of zoning and the way the city government spreads flower petals in front of real estate developers and you've got a dictionary definition of urban sprawl.

Bottom line - What part of Houston? Which ranges and clubs are closest to you? If you're *really* new to the city, what's the closest major street intersection with a freeway? Without some idea what side of town you're on, you'll be constantly trying to find a polite way to turn down invitations when you realize that you're being asked to drive for an hour just to pop a few caps.

Thanks for the responces, I live on the West side of Houston. I have been shooting at American Shooting Centers, it is only six miles from where I live. I do know there is also a nice range in Katy which is only about 20 minutes from me and there is Bayou Riles which is on the south side of Houston and isn't all that far from me. Currently I am doing a lot of big bore rifle shooting, however I also own a Kimber 1911 and enjoy punching paper with it as well.

I have been shooting at American Shooting Centers, it is only six miles from where I live.

That puts you way away from me but I'm sure you'll get plenty of other responses.

PS - ASC would have been the shooting venue if Houston had won the bid for the 2012 Olympics. Of course, the entire place would have been bulldozed, first.
