Whitehorse Range

I would like to thank all the people in West Virginia that put on the 1000 yard shoot this past Sunday at the Whitehorse range. It was a well run match, the range was in great shape and all of the officials were friendly, helpful and did a great job. I am glad that I was there to shoot in the first match at Whitehorse.
Whitehorse is similar to shooting in Iowa because you are shooting down hill. Shooting down hill did not bother Matt Diesnes because he shot a heavy gun group of 3.9 and scored 97 or 98. I remember Matt shooting a practice round in Iowa (down hill) and he put eleven shots in the center of the target that would have cut the heavy gun group record in half had he shot it in competition. I was at Iowa and Matt showed me the target and I accused him of shooting it at 100 yards. Later the target puller told me that Matt shot that target at 1000. I apologized to Matt and he proved again Sunday that he is a good shooter. Enough about Matt.
The people at Whitehorse did an excellent show and I will be back. Stanley said that the next match is September 13 and I will be there. I think it is a club that is going to be around for a long time....GT

Sounds like a place I would like to visit. Will they be shooting a full IBS or NBRSA match schedule next year?

From what I heard from the guys at the range, they are planning on a full IBS schedule next year. Very nice range to shoot and only about 2.5hr drive from the house.

i want to thank all the club members from whitehorse for helping establish
a nice place to shoot the match went excellent and the pit guys did a
superb job and also i want to thank rob ashcraft for helping us agg the targets and in reply to the scores i don't have any written scores only thing
i know is steve sabo won the light gun overall and 2 gun overall and matt
dienes won the heavy gun hands down and we're looking forward to seeing
more shooters at the september 13th match and thanks again great job

That is some excellent news. I will be lucky to get to shoot Nationals this year, but next year will be planning a 10-match agg at Whitehorse. Can we make it from your house to the range Sat morning before the shooting begins?
