I'm new to the form. Would to try .22 bench rest shooting and now i'm trying to decide which rifle to purchase. the remington 40-x seems to be one good choice used with a good 36x scope (also what are the good scopes and mounts?). I'm also intrested in the Feinwerkbau 2700 Super Match Target Rifle. Can these rifles be purchased with no sights and with good mounts?
I currently am trying a Kimber 82 G that i picked up for almost nothing and will begin testing this week with target ammo of different brands. The Kimber may end up being a steel gun instead of bench rest.
Appreciate any thoughts and experience you have with both the 40-x and the Feinwerkbau 2700 Super Match Target Rifle.
Just for some background on me: began shooting with the NRA program back in the 60's and finished my expert rating. 62 years old so now i have both the time and the money to enjoy retirement. I live in King George Virginia and belong to the Fredericksburg Rod & Gun which has ranges from 25 to 200 yards. Also enjoy reloading and shooting big bore rifles. Just shot a 1/2" 100 yard group with my 375 H&H. These were reloads.
Thanks ahead of time.
