Where is the best range?

We are putting the finishing touches on our range, and we are looking for ideas on how to make it better. We want it to have everything a shooter could possibly want short of putting a dome over it.

So, what ranges have you been to that are really nice, and what did you like about them? Who has the largest number of benches?

Thank you for your help,
Dan Killough

Good solid benches, clean rest rooms, solid target holders, plenty of room on the line (under cover), close parking, and well run matches.

The Best

Range that I've shot at is the Kettlefoot R and G Range in Bristol, Va. It has 60 concrete benches, wide area behind benches for tables to clean and hold equipment, toilets, an area that is covered for hanging targets inside or out picnic tables for eating etc... If your camping it has an area for campers and indoor facilities. Very nice indeed, just too far from Alabama to go shoot when I want to. Hope to make a few shoots this season.

I understand Kettlefoot has a new range since I was there. Are the benchs still the size of postage stamps and so close together if you're left handed you might as well stay home?

NO! Tops are bigger and better than the old ones. There is plenty of space inbetween benches to boot. Payum a visit you'll be very surprised at what they have done with the new range.

Some suggestions

Dan:
Although you already have an excellent range, I would only suggest you move the motels a bit closer.

PS:
Also Dorothy needs a moving sidewalk between the restroom and her bench. Also a hand rail is a must.
