Where can I send a Sightron for reticle modification?

I'd like to order the new 8-32X Sightron scope in the near future, but prefer something with either a mil-dot or some kind of hash marks similar to the Burris Balisitic-plex reticle.

Does anybody know where I my send the scope to have that done? Aproximate cost?

I had a Sightron Scope that Bill Ackerman changed out for me. He did a wonderful job, and I would highly recommend him and his staff.

Here is his information;

That AOL address is non-working. There is also mention on this websight that this man is retired or no longer in business. (enter Ackerman in the search and read about it)

Anybody else have suggestions where I can get this service done?

call Sightron and ask them!

This will ensure that your scope would still be under warranty, provided that Sightron has an approved vendor for this sort of service.

Bill changed a Sightron reticle for me about 8 mos. ago. I believe he's still in business..give him a call. Another person to try is Wally Siebert..not sure if he does Sightrons. -Al

Al.

Click on that email adress supplied above in post #2. Try to send a message out, and it immediately comes back to you with a "disconnect".

BTW...the Lee Dot Company is another source to have dots installed. That is just fine with me. HOWEVER, they can't work on scopes that dont have their reticle held in place with screws. Their websight explains this. I believe that will eliminate both the Nikon Monarch, and the Sightron for me.

Do you personally know anything about the new SF 8x-32x Pentax Lightseeker? It has what appears to be a very fine mil-dot reticle with a fine crosshair. But at $730, I'd like to hear some input about it before I buy it.

Don't know about his email. That's his correct phone number....ring him up for the straight scoop.

Never had any experience with the Pentax model you mentioned. Sightron has a real winner with their 8-32 SF scope but I think they missed the boat by not offering a 1/8" dot reticle and 1/8" adjustments. If they could expand this model to a 12-42 version with the above reticle and adjustments, Nightforce would have some serious competition. -Al

When I called Sightron and inquired about changing my reticle, they referred me to Mr. Ackerman. They told me that as long as he did the work, and I kept my receipts, they would honor a full warranty of the scope.

That's just what I was told, your mileage may vary?

Sightron, in my opinion, is one of the best when dealing with their customers!

Pentax = Burris (as in who makes them)

Pentax scopes are made by Burris in Colorado. The Pentax LS-30 is the functional equivalent to the Burris 'Black Diamond'. Some exterior differences and packaging difference. Otherwise, the same.

CameraLand in NY has very good deals on Pentax riflescopes. If you want specs, just look at the Burris website for the equivalent model.
