What weight is better for 1000 yards in the 338 lupua?

I'm thinking it's the 300 grain rounds are prefered? Are the Matchkings good quality for this range?

You're asking the wrong question. The problem with .338s for benchrest has always been good bullets. Until we have those in multiple weights, you can't even begin to address the compromises brought on by weight alone -- though I'd say as always, the "best" bullet is the one your barrel likes.

The MKs have not proven consistent. When good, they are very good.

I have shot the original 300 gr. Bergers @ 2920 fps.using a lilja 10 twist 34'' barrel on a bat action.
(5'' 10 shot groups) at 1000 yrds.
