Mac’s competition load consisted of Remington cases, 23.5 grains of Hodgdon BL-C (Lot No. 1), and a prototype primer that would soon thereafter be introduced by CCI as the BR-4.
One classic load was 20.5 gr the old IMR 4198, but notice that the new H4198 Extreme is not the same as the old IMR. The new H4198 is more dense so more can be fit in the deuce. Reloader7, BL-C 1 or 2, 748, and 4895 all got used.
A "case full" of H335 also shot very well. If you shoot that at dusk, you'll find out why it got the nick name, "Rocket Fuel".
