What happened Bill?

I had saved up $31,560 to bid on the worlds best .22 but have not seen any mention in classifieds, this forum or elsewhere. I may have to spend the money on a new pickup soon. Does anyone hold out hope for me? Is this just a tease to a dumb old country boy like me? Mike

Mike I believe Mr Calfee is still testing the rifle at least that's what he puts on the centerfire forum. He has also stated he will not sell to Kalifornia for whatever reasons. I think you would be better off buying your new truck.

Hummer

Mike:
BC might have stumbled onto a Hummer Barrel. He doesn't know how it happened, and is hoping that by continuing testing, the revelation may come to him. According to BC, this Spec #5 will put all brands, grades quality or not in the same hole. Wow.. I can see why you want to spend so much of your life saving on it. I sure hope you're not on the west coast, from what I've read in the past, BC will not award the high bid to anyone in California. Don't know if that also applies to Washington or Oregon

Won't sell to nevada either

He refuses to sell to Nevada also!!! But he still plays twenty questions in all 50 states.

Hey Mike,
Why not give Butch Hongisto a call. I bet he can put together a great rifle for a whole lot less, as could many other great gunsmith.
Just my $0.02.

If you sell to California after July 1, 2008 an FFL is prohibited from shipping to an FFL to FFL in California unless, prior to delivery, the FFL intending to deliver, sell or transfer the firearm, obtains a verification approval number from the CA department of Justice.
Now I don't know about you but I have enough places already having my information and I don't want one more. So althought this may not be Bill's reasons but I won't sell to California.
So everyone has their reasons for their actions, and I usually have enough on my own plate that I don't question someone else's decisions.

Miss Molly I wasn't questioning. Just stating a fact to a gentleman who could possibly live in Ca. My comment was to him not to you. I couldn't afford one of his rifles and have no interest of ever owning one. I am glad to see you use this new law for your example real intelligent answer.

Why is it Mr Bobby T

When someone on here gives a legitimate reason an action you have to resort to some sort of veiled smart alec remark. I gave a reason that Bill MIGHT have. You stated in your original post " for what ever reason" well I gave a reason. I thought maybe you hadn't heard of the new California law. But you had to resort to a smart ass remark. I just don't get this board in general nor you in particular. If you have anything else to add do it privately and I will give you a call and see if you are a smart ass in person as well as on this board.

Molly It's how you phrased your response that rubbed me the wrong way. I can be a smart a$$ at times and can admit it. If you take a look back at some of your repilles to others since you joined this forum and honestly say you never made a smart a$$ comment towards anyone then please accept my apologies. It doesn't feel to good to have one thrown back at you because the normal response is to reply back with more heat and on and on it would go untill it's deleted.

There's nothing to get about me I say it like I see it and do agree with you in that Calfee can do what the heck he wants selling his rifles.

THe fact I was stating had nothing to do with the new Ca. law and do appreciate you mentioning it. I didn't realize the severity of it.

Wow! May as well close the doors. I hope Mayor Daley don't read this forum, he don't need anymore goofy ideas. Thanks, douglas

I’m not being critical of anyone on this thread, including Mr. Calfee.

I’m simply curious to know why Mr. Calfee won’t sell a firearm to a California resident because he has stated in the past, before the advent of this new law, he wouldn’t.

I’m sure he has a good reason….I just don’t remember if he has ever said what it was. Does anyone know?

What dirrerence does it make. He has the right to sell to anyone or not to sell.
Jim

Sounds like you may be one of the unhappy ones Gordon. BTW Bill I just sold an old D6 Caterpillar so have a little extra money in the pot. Mike
