What front rest do you use.

I am in the market for a really nice front rest. Doing a google search just doesn't bring up all the options. I have seen the rest on Sinclair Int but I know I'm missing some. I shot a 250 on my Caldwell Rock and a rounded off Caldwell rear bag today on an RBA target but it's the first one ever and my x count was really low. 250-4x The rock is a pain with no windage. Has anyone used the JJ industries? I would really appreciate any help guys as I am new to this game and only had my gun for about a month. What rest are out there that I don't know about. This rest will be primarily used for rimfire 50 yard and meter contest but I may at some point want to do some centerfire. My gun is a 10 & half # class and I'll be shooting the ARA , 50/50 and RBA games. My hope is to find out all the front rest makers and their distributers to try and make a decision. Hope everyone is having a good weekend, thanks again.

Ken Fulghum makes a fine rest. Great guy to deal with too! I like the Fulghum and, the Fudd rest base and top. Rifles seem to shoot really well off both of 'em. Don't forget good rear bags, Edgewood makes 'em. Very important.

here is my recommendation.....find a shoot and see what others are using and ask to "try" the ones you see, i did this at the last shoot and the ones i asked said sure give it a try,i am using a farley at the moment but find myself looking harder at the fulghum/randolph rest

I agree!!!

I agree with Nipper, find what fits you the best. But you'll be hard pressed to find much better than the Fulghum. I have an older model base and one of his newer style tops, made alot like a Fudd. Go with the Fulghum and I don't think you'll ever look back. SS852194 (2).jpg

At one point during the IR50/50 3-Gun Nationals this year I looked left and right just out of curiosity to see what everyone was shooting off. I could see about 5 benches in either direction, and every rest I could see was a Fulgham. I don't have one yet, but it's high on my wish list!

Hey Frey

Who owns that pretty yellow rest you posted on this site?

I don't know, but Ken can probably have it powdercoated whatever color you want. Mine is the standard pebble grey color.

I saw him Saturday and he mentioned he's now starting to get requests to sign them too.

I think the yellow one belongs to inspireart, when deciding what top to use, if shooting traditional sporters the fudd with an extended stop is great as you can adjust to have the rest closer to the magazine. that way it keeps those skinny stocks away from where any pressure can be placed on the barrel.

Hart

No,
Bobby Hart sells them with his bottoms but they may be kinda new I do not see many people with them much. I will say it is a darn good front rest. Now I need a Hall one piece and I will be set. Look Don I got the front stop.

Yellow rest

I think the yellow one belongs to Fred Leeds.
