DJ HEPLER DOMINATES 12th ANNUAL WATERMELON CLASSIC

July 19th, 2010
This past weekend the best racers across the deep south visited Aiken, SC for the 12th Annual Watermelon Classic. After 4 rounds of qualifying and a 45 minute A-main it was Hot Bodies/ TRJ Performance/ Torco Race Fuels team driver DJ Hepler that dominated the Pro Truggy class finishing a full 2 laps on Mugen/J-Concepts Greg Smith and Losi racing's and motocross legend Larry "Big Bird" Ward. On Saturday DJ took the TQ spot in 3 of the 4 rounds, and his dominance continued on Sunday. The 45 minute A-main started slow for DJ almost falling a lap down early, but once the field settled down and the tires came in, DJ was able to pass then race leader Greg Smith to move on for another controlling win. Congratulations DJ on your great run !!!

Way to Go DJ

Congratulations DJ, glad to see you are doing well. James and Jessie

Congratulations DJ

I knew it would be just a matter of time! Way to go man.

Congrats DJ,
Thanks for sharing the info Craig, it's wonderful to see dj progress so quickly. It's a tough road but the passion dj has for racing, I believe will exceed his expectations. Two laps on the field is simply awesome driving and setup on the Truggy. Way to go dj.

DJ,
Congrats on the win, well done! We miss seeing and visiting with you and Dan at matches. Please tell Dan I said "howdy". I haven't been doing much shooting myself. Just too busy lately, too old, and hey it's too darned hot outdoors!
Keep up the good work!!!!

Kent I was in wilkesboro this past saturday. So what is all this hot weather doing to bullets? I know its been real hard tuning engines in it just wondering if bullets were acting crazy or not.

DJ, It's hot all over and not helping rimfire at all. To heck with Danny, Tell Kim we miss her. She added a little class to the place.

DJ,
I haven't shot much at all this year, but when I did my rifles seemed to shoot pretty good with the ammo I have had. I went down and tested a couple of rifles at Alvis's indoor range last Friday night. It had been too miserable hot to shoot outside. It was hot even at night, but much better than outdoors. He ahs a nice setup! The problem has been ammo availability! None to be had!
Peppers' right, tell Kim we miss her too!
You should have called me when you were in town and I'd have bought you sody pop or something:)
