What bases for Burris Zee rings?

I just sent my Savage Target Duel Port action along with a Brux 6mm 1 in 8" twist to be built.

When I get it back I want to put Burris Signature Zee rings on it so I can use different inserts, but do not know what bases will fit the action and the rings. I haven't seen bases listed for the Burris.

How about helping me out guys. :)

I always use Weaver bases (rails) for preference & their rings are made to fit Weaver - among others.

Aren't the hole spacing different for different actions?

Weaver bases

I use Weaver bases for the Burris Signature Z rings. Just make sure you get the proper bases for your action.

Well I got my answer for what bases will fit on the Savage Duel Port Target Action:

And the answer is................... Weaver # 46 bases which you need 2 of them. :)

I hope this helps anyone that has that action and wants to use Weaver bases that the Burris Signature Zee rings will fit.

"Aim small miss small", :D

Call Fred Moreno at Sharpshooter's Supply and order a Ken Farrel 1 piece base (flat or tapered). He'll surely have the one for your receiver. I'm not sure if the target actions have the same hole spacing as the Mod. 10. I couldn't find any out there specifically for the Target Actions until I called Fred.

Do those 1 piece bases fit on top of the duel port action without getting in the way when you are loading from the left side?

Spend the money and get the Ken Farrel rail. He makes them in both steel and Alum.

Likely you can get a 20 deg MOA if you need it.

I have had a Farrel Alum rail on my model 16 Savage for three barrels.

With the Burris Signature Zee rings I can switch scopes and still keep zero.

I like the Zee rings with the inserts better than my NightForce or Knight big heavy tachical rings.

My 25-06 now makes 10.5#s with an Edge stock and 12-42X56 Nightforce in zee rings.

The Zee rings with the inserts are easy on the scope. No more hand lapping is needed.

"Duel Port"

I'm not sure what you mean by "duel (dual) port". My receiver happens to be "Right Bolt/Left Port" Is this what you mean? This (Ken Farrel) rail works fine. No obstructions. The only complaint would be is the buggers are so tall. You may be able to get away with med. rings.

Yes you are correct. Mine is a Savage Target "Right Bolt/Left Port" action with the Target trigger. :D

Is it possible to also put a barrel chambered for 6.5-284 on this action or is the cartridge to long to function properly in the single shot action? I'm thinking of maybe having a switch barrel for elk & mule deer hunting in the future.

I have a savage 112 and use the Farrell base and Burris rings. It works good but if I could do it again I'd get a 10 moa or 20 moa base instead of the 0 moa base I have.

A friend of mine just started a business just for you!!

Savage is using this action in a right bolt/right port (left bolt/left port) for a factory 6.5-284 chambering in their F-Class Mod. 12. Should have no problems with that cartridge.

When your smith threads the blank, loose the barrel nut. It will make switch barrels A LOT easier!
