West Virginia U. wins 5th straight NCAA Championship

WVU won their 5th straight and 19th overall NCAA championship with a new NCAA record 4723. 2 of their freshman ladies won the air rifle and small bore. They will be back next year as well as their soph. Olympic gold medalist, Ginny Thrasher.
Coach Jon Hammond has done a great job.

As you probably know my Grandson recently graduated from WVU.
Once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineers.

Mort, just a few years ago they killed the program. They were very lucky to be able to restart the program with Coach Jon Hammonds leading the program. The shooters still have to furnish their own high dollar weapons. That is a small bore and an air rifle.

Good for them Butch. The high school here has trap shooting, but about the only thing they do is give the team the school name. At least the kids are learning guns ain't that bad.

Dave, we have a fellow shooter that has a Daughter that shoots the collegiate style and is 13yrs old I believe. I believe he lives in your part of the country. I told him I would alert Jon Hammond. Believe it or not Jon said yeah I know about her. Maybe this is part of the reason the WVU program is as good as it happens to be.
