Karen Steinman and Lee Whitely shot their first 250's Sat at Cap City! Lee had 21 x's and Karen 17--Good shooting! Then, Lee shot his second 250 in the 131/2 event! Not shabby for a shooter in his first season of rimfire benchrest! They must have taken their cue from Larry Balestra who started the day with a250 - 18x in Sporterclass. This range, with its notorious "pit", had only yielded two 250's all season so the total of 5 shot this day is all the more impressive. Congratulations all!!

Nice shooting guys... and girl. Karens getting pretty dangerous, first a placement at the Regionals and now this. Pretty soon Paul will be having toask for permission to use HER guns.

Great shooting!

Lee is a seasoned veteran to centerfire benchrest, just been away for awhile.
Its nice to see a new face doing well! Congratulations Lee and Karen. :)

Just south of Olympia Wa. (we try to stay under the radar-- obviously it works!)
 
Why stay Under the Radar?

A lot of clubs do that, and I am not sure why. Seems counter-productive if you want to recruit new shooters. And: With interest in rimifire benchrest declining, I think we should be promoting, not hiding.

Is it fear that some shooters will trash the range?

Point taken Joe. Actually we have managed to thrive and grow, primarily by word of mouth. Unfortunately our facility is lacking in several respects and is not conducive to the promotion of major events.
