weighting a stock?

I seem to remember an article that Speedy wrote about how to add weight to help balance a rifle so it rides tracks properly, but I can't seem to find it. Anybody happen to know where Ic an find it, or have their own words of wisdom on the matter? Rifle in question is F/Tr w/ a Sinclair F pod in front, bag in the rear, but I'm thinking the benchresters have the most to share when it comes to tracking.

You add weight to balance the stock around the bolt face to three inches in front depending on the length of stock. You want to add the weight as low as you can in the stock so long as it fits.
