are the weight classes the same for centerfire rifles in benchrest shooting as they are for rimfire? 7.5 10.5 and unlimited etc.

No, they are 10.5#, 13.5#, and unlimited, with two 10.5# classes LV and Sporter, the latter with a caliber restriction. The rule books for both IBS and NBRSA are available for download on their web sites.
