Gentlemen...IYHO what is the heaviest bullet I can shoot in a 1/12 twist 6mmBR with a .272 neck.......Thanks JC

Couple of things to remember. The first is that is is, by in large, the length of the bullet that is most critical, not its weight. The second is that atmospheric conditions are a significant factor, if you are pushing things. A bullet on the edge may be stable in 90-degree weather at 1,000 feet elevation, and not stable in 30-degree weather at sea level.

That being said, around an 80-grain bullet. An 80-grain VLD (which would apt to be longer) might not be stable.

This link should help you out. I've gone as high as 90 grains, but accuracy starts to suffer. My go to Varmint bullet is a 75 grain V-Max. 80 Grain Speers also shoot well. I'd shoot Bergers if they made a 6 millimeter varmint bullet.
Check your brass. My last 100 Lapua cases had an OD of .268

I used some ancient 87gr Hornady spire points as foulers in my 12 twist 6br Savage and they shot decent groups out to 200 yds with a real mild load of Varget and seated somewhere behind the lands :p
