Weaver Varmint scopes
bennybooboo: The original posting was related to the Weaver target scopes, but you have commented about an interest in the varmint line, and for that I can relate a little experience. Bought a Weaver 4-16x-42mm several years ago: clicks are positive, never had a tracking or repeatability problem, but-- Clarity from 4x to around 8x is very good. From 8x to 12x starts to look like a light ground fog is between you and the target. From 12x to 16x you're looking thru moderate ground fog. Optical quality is just not there at the higher settings. Would I buy another one of these? No. I'd add just a few dollars more and get one of the VX 11 Leupolds. Have 7 Leupolds and they are all trouble-free, excellent scopes.
