Weaver front lock ring???

So what can the effects be if any, not realizing that there was a front locking ring for the adjustable front objective?

I had no idea. If it were mentioned here at one time or another I definately have been having a blond moment....

Depends...

Depends on the particular scope. One with heavy grease may not move at all, however, a slightly loose objective lens will change point of impact if the objective ring is not tightened.
