of the Supreme Court. The final holders of the word of law in the United States. As I understand it they are deciding on a case if a city has the right to prohibit firearms in the hands of it's citizens.

What part of the second amendment is hard to understand. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Wouldn't it have been simpler if it had been written this way, "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Good case for using the fewest words when there is a choice.

However this case goes, it will probably be settled by a 5 to 4 vote and there won't be a thing that we can do about it.

I heard on Fox News that it might be decided by noon tomorrow!! We'll have to wait and see.

If it goes anything like the decisions handed down today, we're in trouble.

They ruled against Louisiana on the death penalty for the 350 pound guy that raped his 6 year old stepdaughter.

They lowered the fine on Exxon from 2.6 billion dollars to 500 million dollars.

So much for the tenacity and integrity of our highest court.
 
The activists on the Supreme Court are merely making a statement. Their liberal agenda will be forced down our throats destroying the morals and values that made our country great! I've stated it before and I'll state it again. There are 200 + reasons not to vote for Obama. The next Pres. will nominate perhaps 200 Federal and possibly 2 Supreme Court justices. Although I don't agree with many of McCain's positions, I would rather he nominate the judges instead on the MOST LIBERAL member of the Senate!

Seven of the nine judges have been nominated by conservative presidents. Do you want to run the country from the Supreme Court? It's insulting to say, "Their liberal agenda will be forced down our throats destroying the morals and values that made our country great!" I hope when you retire you refuse to take Social Security and Medicare because it is at the top of the liberal agenda along with many other things we enjoy, but conveniently forget how it was fought tooth and nail by conservatives who fear all change.

I've $100K to bet you that if Obama is elected the U.S. will be here four years after he is in office and the sky will not have fallen.

Keep your money, you may need it. I am not worried about something as trivial as the sky falling, I am concerned about additional loss of freedom.

I don't want to hear about loss of freedom from a Bush supporter. We are going to have an exchange student from Mexico this year. He is an honor student with strong family values from what I can gather. He is fifteen years old.

Due to new laws and regulations demanded by the Bush administration and the department of homeland defense, we have been informed that it would be a federal crime for this kid to handle my guns or take part in shooting activities.

Now honor students from Mexico are a terrorist threat? Give me a break. The loss of personal freedom in the last 7 years in this country is astonishing. It may not touch you personally every day but when it does touch you it could be in a very ugly way. Thank God for the SCOTUS.

Sometimes the government has to paint with a "Broad Brush" so to speak, as not to exclude anyone! A lawyer seems to be lurking around every bush to file a suit!! That's why you see little old ladies checked at airports and not always the ones with diapers on their heads. Why couldn't we help good young students in this country that have family values?? I'm sure there's enough Mexicans already in the country that we are helping. Seems like we are always willing to let the government worry about our kids, but we are willing to help others around the world!! I'm also talking about myself.

I want the fourth amendment to the constitution respected and adhered to. It is currently dead for all intents and purposes. They are monitoring what we say, read, write, search for on the net, and where we travel. Everything that is said on a shooting forum is fodder for the mining expeditions these people take part in. They have files on us. All they have to do is misinterpret something that we say and the next thing you know, they are asking your neighbors about you. Then that neighbor that doesn't like you tells them you're a gun nut and away we go. You will be paying lawyers fees and your taxes will be paying for the prosecuting attorney and any true patriot won't question your guilt when the government says you're guilty.

We have given up freedoms that were won by the blood of the original American patriots. Don't let fear convince you to allow our leaders to revoke our right to privacy. Habeas Corpus is a core right that protects the others just like the right to freedom of speech. While we focus on the second, they take away the others in bits and pieces.

I don't understand the point you are trying to make about our kids and kids in the rest of the world. The exchange student program allows a kid from elsewhere to come here for a year for a cultural and educational exchange and then my kid goes there or elsewhere for a year to get his rich and rewarding experience of another part of the world.

Looks like we will loose another freedom if the democrats get in control......The Fairness Doctrine, which will put honest broadcasting out of business!! The lib's tried to push their propaganda on the air waves with a lot of liberal money, but most people could see through the facade. Now they are trying to shut-up people that don't agree with their postiton on things by government control {typical democratic strategy}. I think anyone should be allowed to broadcast as long as the language is clean and the material is factual!! The big three {ABC, CBS and NBC} are about to go out of business as far as news is concerned because of their extreme bias, people are turning to Fox News by the millions because of this!! How many of the big three have continued to expose the " CountryWide Six"??? Only Fox News expoed it for what it was!! The big three think Obama is the Messiah and they continue to bash Bush everyday regardless if it's true or not!!
