does anybody have anything good or bad to say about vortex optics?

Vortex binoculars have a favorable reputation...

... for value, i.e. performance for dollars. I believe that Vortex is largely owned or very much related to Eagle Optics.

Haven't heard about their riflescopes, but you might check for such info on snipershide.com, as that bunch tends to be quite vocal about such things.

I have used the Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 on my Winchester Featherweight 25.06 for sometime and have found it to be the equal to my Leupold VXIII in 6.5-20x40

For all intents and purposes I cant see a difference and I have 2 x Leupold's. Vortex have the same Lifetime transferrable warranty as Leupold and are a bit cheaper here anyway.

A mate has a 2-7x32 Vortex Crossfire on his Ruger 96/44 and has nothing but good words for it as well.

I would buy another one without hesitation.
