Who makes the best vise jaws for holding the barrel when removing or working on the action.

Brownell's carries some nice barrel vises.

No attachment to any sort of standard benchvise will work.

Al Davidson is no longer with us but he manufactured, along with other neat things, his barrel vise is to help the BR shooter that wants to change barrels at the Shoot, a portable unit fits in my Kennedy box, only extras needed are a big C-clamp or 2 small ones and a 3/4 box end wrench.

Could you post a picture of the Davidson vise? If he's no longer around, it's hard to buy one. Probably I could make one. Sounds like it is more portable than my shop vise.

Kelblys was selling a Davidson design vise. They may make it theirself.

Is this $50 price really correct for all 3 items? I paid about that much for just a vise. Bolt this it a piece of 2" x 2" square tubing and it fits your trailer hitch socket for use at the range.
