Varmint stock for Panda/ Panda replacement barrel contour

I have an older Stolle Panda RBRP which is glued into a BR stock of unknown manufacture. I recently ordered a new Krieger barrel, and have a couple of questions. What would be a reasonable barrel finish length with a varmint/palma contour that would not require excessive or much additional weight in the stock to balance? Currently it has a 14 twist barrel in 6BR @ ~22". I ordered a Krieger #15 contour from Bruno's, because it was on of the very few 8 twist 6mm barrelsthat I could find in stock, and being the impatient person that I am... I plan to have the new barrel chambered in 6BR as well.

Also, I don't currently shoot competition, I would like to leave that option available for the future(understanding weight class limits etc. may require reconfiguration and another barrel/chambering).

Finally, would it be practical or even sensible to have the action pillar bedded and fitted/screwed into the current stock, and then also bedded into a varmint type stock? That way I could carry it in the field comfortably, shoot from a bipod, and then put it in the BR stock w/3" forend for target shooting. I could be crazy:eek:... what do you think. A second custom action is not in the current budget, but when we get back some of our tax money...:D it probably won't end up in my hobby account.
