USARB SCORING PLUG PROGRAM
Announcement – April 2016
USARB has initiated a program to distribute two custom scoring plugs free of charge to sanctioned clubs that request them. The intent is to make tools available that we believe will promote better scoring practices and more reliable outcomes.
These scoring plugs are designed specifically for .177 caliber pellet holes, and are appreciably easier to use than commercially available plugs that are best suited to .20 and .22 caliber. What makes these more suitable for .177, is that the probe is a diameter of .180”; tight enough to provide a well-centered and repeatable fit without unnecessarily expanding the pellet hole. Plugs are of brass construction, with a scoring collar machined to .224” in compliance with World rules, and measuring to a tolerance of +.0000”/-.0005”. Pugs do not incorporate the typical 2x plastic magnifier, since use of higher power magnification and added light is recommended. Therefore included with the plugs, clubs will receive an accessory 5x magnifier with built in LED light (Carson model PO-55).
If interested in a better scoring experience and taking advantage of this offer, MD’s should email a request on behalf of their sanctioned club to: usarbbod@gmail.com. Please include club name and a mailing address.
Sincerely,
Joe Friedrich
