I would like to take the time to say congradulations to a very good friend of mine who took 5th place Overall at the Sacramento NBRSA 600 Yard Nationals with his very own built 722 Sleeved Remington, in 6BR. His name is Tommy Leroy Johnson.

It should be noted this was Leroy's FIRST time ever competing in a benchrest shooting match and he took 5th place, that's AMAZING. Leroy is not only an excellent shooter, he is an excellent gunsmith. I have had many rifles built by some of the top gunsmiths in the US. However, after Leroy built my first rifle, I would always have my rifles built by him. Leroy owns Johnson Precision Gunsmithing and builds the finest rifles I have ever owned. His workmanship is by far the best I ever seen and his attention to detail is top notch.

Tommy Leroy Johnson took 5th place overall with the following equipment;
1. Sleeved 722 Reminton w/PTG Coned Bolt
2. MBR Stock
3. Krieger 28", 1-8, .237 bore, 1.250 STRT Cylinder
4. Shelin Trigger
5. Shehane 20MOA Rings
6. Nighforce BR 12x42x56
7. Leroy built this rifle

I am very proud of Leroy and I thought his name should receive some recognition for this accomplishment. Leroy would never toot his own horn, he's not that kind of a man. I have known Leroy for about 4 years and he has become a very close friend and I admire him a great deal. Once again, congratulations Leroy, AWESOME SHOOTING!!!!

Leroy shot on the same bench as my father and for a first match shooter he was very smooth.I was helping Craig on the line and Leroy performed like a seasoned professional.His equipment was working real well in some very tough conditions.
The 6BR or 6 Dasher was used by 7 or 8 of the top 10 finishers.
Leroy it was nice shooting with you and don't hesitate to join us at our monthly matches.We shoot the 4th sunday of every month.

I wrote a reply this morning thanking you and your Dad and all the other folks who helped me at match, but it did not get on this thread. I probably lost it in cyber space. I will try and shoot the thousand yard match at end of the month.
Thanks again
Leroy Johnson
