ULA scope mounts?

Hi gentlemen,

Here is a question for the ULA owners. I want to replace the ULA provided scope mounts/rings with something lighter. As you know, and can see in the photo, the top of the receiver is unique in that there is a difference in the front and rear curve of the receiver as well as a difference in elevation between the front and rear of the action. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Al

At one time Bill Myers made replacement bases for the ULA rifles he built. Don't think he made any extras though. I'd be surprised if some other enterprising machinist couldn't do that for you. Another option is to cut down and machine dovetails in the existing bases to use rings of your choice.

Bases

Hi Al,
What you have looks very much like a 40x set of bases, they may not be but from your picture, maybe?
If they are, try Kelbly, and maybe someone else knows if Donaldsons will work?!
Good Luck!

Thanks Don & Pete,

I have to admit I'm not too familiar with the 40X. Does it have the "step-down" on the action? By eye-balling it looks like the rear base is around 1/8 to 1/4 inch lower than the front base. I'm trying to get 30mm rings so I can mount that fancy new Leupold Mark 4. :)

Thanks for your effort Pete!

I went to the Talley site. ULA is listed in the list of manufactures but when I add search criteria I get the message " No product listings meet your filter criteria." I'll call them tomorrow.

Thanks again, Al
