UBR Nationals Registration!!

The UBR National Championship is to be held at Boyle County Fish and Game Club in Junction City Ky. on Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14. Start times are 9am on Friday and 8 am on Saturday.

UBR offers factory, modified, custom and unlimited classes, so there is a class for everyone. It is caliber neutral score so dust off the old PPC and bring it on out...or, if you just want to give UBR a try and have a good shooting factory or modified rifle, bring it and come shoot with us. We have a class for virtually anyone and of any skill level.

I would expect between 80-100 guns to contest this match, this year. If you've never shot a national championship match, this is the one to make it to. Lots of good folks in a laid back atmosphere, where everyone hopes to shoot well but mainly, have a good time. I haven't missed one of these yet and I don't plan on ever missing this match!

Billy Henson is the match director and asked me to post his contact info here. Please call him to pre-register. I'm sure there will be a few people to show up on match day and they are welcome as well, but it'd be a big help to the people putting on the match for you all to go ahead and get pre registered. Also, I'd start checking on hotel rooms asap. I just booked a room at the Hampton Inn in Danville. It's only about 5 miles from the range and has a nice restaurant within walking distance. I was there last weekend and can attest that they have a very good prime rib!

I have never shot a UBR match, I'm primarily an NBRSA group shooter, and I have a few questions. I looked at the UBR website, but didn't find the answers I was looking for.

Do you need to be preloaded for a UBR match or is there time to load before each target like NBRSA/IBS? What does the majority do?

Do most folks put out windflags?

Do you rotate benches at the Nationals? (need lots of flags)

What's the format for the event? 100 on Friday, 200 on Saturday?

I don't even know if I could make it to this match, but I would like to give UBR a try sometime.

Jerry, it will be 100 on Friday and 200 on Saturday. We will rotate between yardages only, so no need for a bunch of flags but yes, virtually everyone will have flags on their bench...almost a certainty.

Most pre-load but there will be ample time to load between relays, particularly so if you only shoot one class. If you shoot more than one, you can ask to have someone shoot between your relays...but it shouldn't be an issue either way. If you are feeling rushed, simply let the match director know and he'll do whatever is within reason to make sure you have time. UBR generally defaults to IBS rules for procedural issues like this one.
