We've surely had tougher conditions to shoot sometime in the past, but I honestly don't recall them. I don't think I heard a single complaint about the weather overall because the 70's and sunny day was really sweet. But the wind was brutal. From the first shot we had gusts of 15-17 mph and it increased all day getting well up into the 20's and coming from all directions at once. We had shooters from all over making up a field of 21 rifles. I won't name everybody, but wanted to single out George Ulrich and Jesse Williams for making the 5 hour drive from St Louis to shoot with us before going on to the BGSL in Wilmore KY this morning. Jimmy Brady made amends for missing lunch one match last year by providing rib eye sandwiches for everybody. All is forgiven.
As I said above, it was tough for everybody and only Scotty Crawford seemed to figure it out winning everything in Custom Class. The rest of us struggled. Joey Gregory took Factory Class, Alvin Sears, Modified and Ron Jackson made a good showing in Unlimited. Only Scotty was able to clear the 500 point bar with a 502 Grand Agg. I truly do not know how he did it.
The next UBR match after today should be at the Brock's Gap Training Center in Hoover AL next Saturday.
