Two IBS Agenda Items for Score Shooting

As most know, the cut off date for submitting proposed agenda items is the end of June. With that in mind, here are two: The first is for adopting the reticle for scoring targets, replacing the plug. The second is a rule change which standardizes the procedure for handling potential record targets, which pretty much follows the way the Group rules read.

Like last year, if you want to print them out, have them signed and mail them back to me, I'll forward them along. I will have them at the next two Fairfax matches, and at the Bud Pryor match in Thurmont, for "personal" signature. Send me a PM for my address if you like.

Greetings all,

I'd been meaning to take some better pictures, and this prompted me to do so. This is not a real good example, but you can get the idea.

Is it an X!, or just a 10?...

The outside of the scribed line is true diameter.

Cheers,

Bill

Paper tears and stretches?...

Something I noticed about this example.... You can see the paper tears around the hole in a "verticle" direction. In the reticle pic, the side edges are very close to the scribed lines, while the top and bottom have more "gap". Seems the bullet pushed the paper in where it tore, rather than cutting a clean, round, hole.

The circle seems large compared to the bullet hole, but when you look at a flat-based bullet against the scoring ring, it matches the outside edge almost perfectly.

We have very few "disagreements" when scoring with this. My scoring buddy said we should name it "The Determinator".

(Edited to add) I may not have had that circle perfectly centered on the hole (kind of tough getting everything set up for the photo), but it's pretty close.

Best regards,

Bill

In the two matches we have used the reticle at Fairfax, there has not been one call for a referee checking a target/score. It definately works!
