Looking at all the options for a rimfire benchrest stock, i have gone blind! -My brains is fried. I'm not worried about a class right now, just want something for my Turbo Action. I have a lot to learn before I'm ready to choose a class to get in. My thoughts are learn how to make it shoot then make the adjustments for a particular class.

If you have any suggestions or links to a web site i would appreciate it.

I would buy a used stock already bedded for a Turbo Action if someone has something sitting in the closet. Shoot me a PM if you have something used or e-mail me: bigjgarage@aol.com

thanks joe:)

Determine the class you want to shoot in before buying !!
Go to as many matches as you can and see what is being used.

like fred said look around and see what others are using. i got a great stock used from a friend of mine for my suhl. i can use it in unlimited classes. it's wood with a medal plate under the forearm and on the end of it. it's bedded perfectly to my rifle.

take your time and look around. get exactly what you want. if you settle for anything less you'll never be as happy as if you get exactly what you like.

The classes are for weight, 10 1/2 # or 13 1/2 # for single shot actions. Either will shoot unlimited. usually people set up a 10 1/2# gun and shoot both classes with the same gun. unlimited anything goes.

Don Stith has some excellent wood stocks, some with high grade wood that's exceptional. He had one at Kettlefoot PSL match for sale. I almost bought it and don't even need one! If you like high grade wood, Don has a few high grade stocks, priced right too.

Joe,

As stated a lot depends on weight etc... Since you live in Texas most of the competition in this neck of the woods is unlimited so weight doesn't play into it as much. You may want to look into the new Stocks Dan Killough is carrying. They are light and the quailty is very good. One of the well known centerfire boys in Houston likes them a lot and says all his guns are built off of them. Can't bet the price either and he should have them in stock.

i've seen alot of don stith stocks. he does make very great stocks indeed!! the price is good and so is his craftmanship. you can't go wrong with a stith stock. then again the ones from famous makers are as good as any.

like stated before most people set up a 10 1/2 pounder and shoot in that class and unlimited. the stock i got i think puts mine over the 10 1/2 pound limit. i haven't wieghed it yet so i don't know. it's made of notty pine so it isn't really that heavy, and it looks really great!!!

look around and talk to people. get exactly what you like and you'll be as happy as a pig in slop!!! the next one i get will have a synthedic or carbonfiber stock on it. i have 2 that are in wood stocks already and they do fine, but i just want to try out something new myself.

mr nobody glad to see your back, lol....
Thank's for every ones suggestions. I'm gonna keep "pondering".
I got this new action and just about through "fingering it", lol. i got to shoot the darn thing before i -esplode. You can only ask the wife so many times, "Hey whatcha think about this?".

Call Bruno's and see if they have a McMillan stock for a turbo.

Give Dan Killough a call, he has some very nice looking stocks that would work just fine and the price is very reasonable.
