If you have a bored tuner you wish to use on a smaller diameter barrel is alumimum the best material to use? Should the bushing be left in one piece, slit in one place or slit into halves?

Butch Hongisto installed my tuner on the stock barrel on my 40x and when i had him install a new Broughton barrel he had to "bush" it. He made an alumimum sleeve that was a tight [lightly driven on] fit to my barrel. He made this bushing/sleeve just a bit bigger than my tuner was bored for then re-bored the tuner to fit.He did this so the sleeve would not be too thin.Anyway he put locktite on the inside of the sleeve and tapped it into place. We then installed the tuner in the normal fashion.
It has worked fine for me.

I have bored our tuners and used Loctite Black Max 380 to hold a sleeve. Drill and bore to size. You can split it and clamp also. My experience with Black Max 380 is that you will have to cut whatever you attach off as it is a terrific adhesive.
