Would someone be so kind to briefly explain the above conversions on either a Weaver T36 or Sightron 36?? and if it is worth vs the standard versions?? I have had a Weaver T36 standard before that served me very well.

Have no funds for a March at this stage (but would love one) and must make do with one of the above....

Thanks

The Tucker conversion has a housing that contains a coil spring and plunger, that is located in the same plane as the center lines of the turrets, at about 45 degrees below the horizontal, on the opposite side from the windage turret.

I presume that what you are referring to as the tension screw modification is like what was more commonly done on Sightrons where the turret housing is drilled and tapped for nylon machine screws, opposite each turret, so as not to depend on the factory leaf springs to to keep the erector tube in position against the parts of the turret that contact it.

A frozen scope has its erector tube immobilized, either by epoxy or by mechanical means , and requires an adjustable mount. Currently, for a 1" tube scope, the Buckys mount is the only one of that type that is in production, that I am aware of.

I had a Weaver modified by him...

it was a wonderful, dependable POI for about half a season then started throwing shots. I sent it back and it was returned but never was as dependable as when I first got it. I asked him what he did to fix it and never got any kind of a reply on either the nature of the modifications or fixes.
