Trigger Stop Screw Fliers

For some time now I have been thinking about how the trigger stop screw relates to fliers. I believe that slapping the stop could cause fliers and was wondering if anyone had tried backing off the adjustment to see if there was a positive result.
Just looking for opinions. What do you think ?
Thank You

David Tubbs advocates lots of overtravel but he's using a 16 oz [ 8 + 8 ] 2 stage trigger. For a 2 oz trigger I don't know what it would gain you. Doesn't cost you anything to experiment at your next practice session.

I've had a long policy of backing off the trigger stop on all my rifles - field & target. I feel it gives me more wriggle room irrespective of the weight I'm shooting.

Mike Ratigan addresses trigger overtravel in his book, "Extreme Rifle Accuracy." I don't have my copy with me or I would look up the page number for you but basically, Mike says, and I'm paraphrasing, "I don't want to run into anything solid after the sear breaks." In other words, he likes a lot of overtravel and I agree.

Hey! George
You can't have the title worst trigger puller because it is mine and that is why I started thinking about the stop screw.
I think the top shooters have things they don't share with everyone ( shame on me )and I just keep looking so I can be more competitive.

Skill maybe? But technique I can use now while developeing the skill.
There is nothing that says my Calfee rifle and Eley ammo and the Hall one piece rest can not be improved on.
To me skill is the ability to repeat my actions the same every time I fire but I should be able to improve my equipment and technique as I see fit.
