Just got a call from my smith saying that the trigger hanger on my new Lawton 7500 action isnt right. The hanger is allowing the the trigger to go to far up inside the action. The trigger is a Jewell with no safety. I was wondering anyone has ever had this happen before. I sent Lawton an e-mail but i dont really expect a response before Monday. I hope i just have a bad hanger. I sure hope the action isnt the problem. any ideas?? Thanks lee

I've never worked on a Lawton, or saw one. But, to ask a stupid question, could the hanger be upside down? Some can be installed both ways.

we already thought of that. We tried everything!!

With the screws loose it works. When you tighten the screws up on the hanger it lifts the trigger up inside the action to far. I dont know if your supposed to shim these hangers or bead them?? This is the first action i have ever owned with a trigger hanger. Lee

A couple of small washers between the hanger and the receiver should allow it to function properly. I have made my own trigger hangers to insure that they are the correct dimensions for proper function and trigger timing. They are aluminum and quite simple to make.
The action makers might sell you an unfinished hanger and you could put the cross pin holes in to suit your needs.
