Have any of you used the "Gun Metal Blue" color? I'm interested in using it on a sporter rifle with a walnut stock. How does it's appearance compare with a hot metal blue?

Not even close. It definitely has a "painted" look to it. The flat black isn't blue, but is much more appealing in a wood stock application.

Ive used it on a few small parts and its wasnt that far off. I did a few parts on a Mossberg 144LSA. Ive never sprayed a whole rifle with it yet. The satin and flat black do go very well with a wood stock. It can be very close to matt blueing.
