Today's Match in Michigan's Upper Peninsula . . .

YEA! The snow is melting and we had a match today. The first one since last October. The north end of the range was under water, so most us shot on the south end. We got a couple of guys who have a strong attraction for benches 15 & 16. They shot on that north end. I think Leo Hedger would rather swim out to the target frames, than shoot on the south end.

Nice Day. By the time we left the range it was 74 degrees: Now, that is HOT for us Yoopers, in the month of April.

Thanks for everything...

Rob and I enjoyed the weekend very much. I always look forward to the Saturday night dinner at Kewadin Casino. The great food kind of made up for our poor showing at Sunday's match.

You guys have been shooting benchrest longer than any other club in Michigan and you have way too many good shooters for anybody to expect to show up totally unprepared and to have a chance to do well. Anybody that can shoot 240 and above scores at 50 yds. in the windy, swirling conditions you had Sunday has my congratulations.

Truthfully, it felt so good just to be outside in warm weather with other shooters after the interminal winter that it made the poor shooting kind of O.K.

The trip home went well. It was 80 degrees when we pulled into my driveway, just a little over three hours after we left your place. Two weeks ago there was literally ice on our lake.

We now have something every weekend till our first rimfire match in Harrison on June 9th. Hope to see some of you Yoopers there. Till then I will work at it hard enough to, hopefully, give you a little competition when you get here.

Dick

Dick-maybe the great food caused the poor shooting!!

Chuck...

No excuse re: the food. Contrary to the nefarious rumors that Haller is spreading, I didn't eat all that much. There's a picture out there of Joe and I and a mountain of crab legs. I didn't eat a one.

My poor shooting was either the result of no practice at all since last summer or just plain old age and senility. I will be working hard on centerfire before the Super Shoot and hope it is just lack of practice.

Did you get match schedules for our matches? I will mail you same if you didn't.

Thanks,

Dick

Thanks Dick. I picked up a schedule and posted it on the food cooling device.

Ill post a copy at the Voyer lake range just N of Atlanta, Mi.
