Darrel Loker won both yardages to take the grand (Surprise) .2508
Joe Hargadine was second .3050
Don Creach was third .3132

Larry Scharnhorst contributed to the Luther police department for speeding.
Don't you just love a happy ending.

Your kidding about Larry. I saw a Police car with two people laying on the road looked like a Swat Team take down. You know drugs, guns and all that other Democrat stuff!!!!

Speeding Larry...

I sure don't think that was a mistake... This is a true story!!!
When we were coming home from Phoenix a few weeks ago, (Me, Wayne Corley, and Larry), it was Larry's turn to drive, and Larry likes to get in the "rocking chair" so he doesn't get caught speeding. Anyway, we were in a diesel excursion, pulling an 18' trailer that was loaded kind of heavy, and when I looked over, Larry had it going 93+ MPH! I said "Larry, slow this thing down a little bit, because if we blow a tire, or something happens, they will be sweeping us up off the highway!
Remind me to tell you about DeWayne Orr pulling my trailer sometime! That story is even better!!!

Ron, at the nationals at Mill Creek, the one that was so miserably hot, I rode out to the range from Kansas City with Red Cornelison every day in his van. We were normally running around 90 going to the range and were still getting passed by all those Kansas drivers.

Luther remains to be the strangest place I know of to shoot. I arrived a bit late and had to hurry to get some sighters in. I didn't even have time to put out flags, but there were plenty to read. Boy did it look like it was going to be a trigger pulling contest. There was vurtially no wind, just a slight breeze, maybe 3-5 and would hold for several shots. I thoght this is going to be a cake walk, no wind to speak of. But I am beginning to think that Luther is located in one of those areas called a Vortex. Where normal worldly laws do not apply. In spite of the excellent wind conditions there were only a few very excellent groups shot. Of course the most experienced and tested shooters did the best but there were some strange happenings. Darrel Lokar as usual shot good with a 0.2018 agg. I am beginning to think there is a honey hole at Luther and it depends on the conditions. Rex Reneau abd his crew as usual ran a fast passed and good match. We shot two relays in the same time we usually shot one relay. By the time I got cleaned and reloaded about 10 rounds it was "shooters to the line". One thru 10 was as follows....
#1 Lokar...0.2508"",...
#2 Joe Hargdine...0.305",.....
#3 Don Creach....0.3132".....
#4 Rex Reneau..0.3262",.....
#5 Chuck Nelson....0.3281"......
#6 Larry Kuse....0.3305".....
#7 Dee Meyes......0.3344"........
#8 Dennis Wagner.....0.3449"........
#9 Larry Scharnhorst.....0.0.3558".....
#10 Dewane Stafford.....0.3626".
How Rex runs the match and shoots too I will never understand. I will not comment on where I finished but it was not last, but by just a few places. As usual it was elbows and a$$holes trying to get ready to shoot. But a good time was had by all even if we didn't have much time to visit. At least this time I only went to the line with one round that had a primer seated upside down. Hey, I am getting better. For those that have not shot Luther, I suggest you come up or down an test your abilities against what Mike Ratigan calls the Benchrest Hell Hole. Hope I got all the aggs correct, if not sorry about that.................Donald

Couldn't have said it better really

Luther has always been a challenge to both me an any other shooter who has shot there, weather they admit it or not ;). As for the "Honey Holes" Don speaks of... in my opinion that would be the east side (Bench 16 - 30 right hand side), but I have seen many shooter's do quite well on the on the west side benches (15- 2). However, I will just say that if I ever meet the man/woman who walks to the line at Luther, OK..., sits down with good to fair equipment an stays consistant all day long, time after time, I would consider them the king/queen of Luther in my book.

Congradulations to all
