To cut or not to cut that iz the big Q

I am really torn asunder on this one. Have a C Z 452 super 2500. It shoots good as it is , but I have grown tired of the super long tube on it.

The rifle is not stock now , it sits in a Rem 700 vssf stock , the one with the full bedding block of aluminum . I know only a few of these were ever made , but I really think it would shoot better with a shorter barrel. Say 16 3/4 to 18 inches maby.

Slug the barrel and cut it a little after the tight spot. Have you read any of Bill Calfee's articles?

I did a search for the slugging article . Couldn't find just the one . Anyone got a link that will fly me there? I have about decided on just jumping on this thing and seeing what crawls out in about a month.
