Time Precision Action ?

Anyone here know about the quality of the Time Precision actions----they appear to be a slightly beefed-up 40X action with a longer receiver ring.

I've heard they've gone out of business and a call to their number produces a "no longer in service" answer.

Would appreciate any info on what these actions were/are.

If you are asking about the rimfire actions, the quality was quite good. It was a front locking lug bolt as a CF but had no ejector, only extractor. Also used a coned barrel to allow the extractor to rotate around the coned barrel as the bolt rotated. You had to reach up and flick each empty case off the bolt with your finger before you loaded and other round.
Most did not like them for this reason. Also has a duel firing pin setup, but most folks filed one down to allow the other pin to produce a stronger hit. As for accuracy, they we very good, if set up with a good barrel and all else was done correctly, i.e., prober bedding, stock. etc.

They also produced rimfire benchrest rifles, ready to go using Shilen or Lilja barrels, not sure which.

Thanks Kent

I was referring to CF actions and don't think the lack of an ejector would concern me.

I've had several of the RF and CF actions over the years and as Kent said the RF actions were good stuff. lots of shooters didn't like the lack of an ejector and difficulty in loading without a loading ramp but I always liked the other features and quality.
The CF actions were as good as most of the custom actions available 20+ years ago but they got left behind in the custom features market. Parts availability today, ( extractors, firing pins, other bolt parts) would make me steer away from them if they are out of business. But if I needed a rifle and if the price was right on a Time action or complete rifle with no non functioning parts I'd buy one. I don't think you would give up anything in accuracy.
