I did not want to hi-jack Williamsports thread so I started my own.
Our school (classes) as many of you know has been in the works for some time now. We will be releasing our schedule in about two weeks. You will be able to attend as an individule or in groups of people you choose to (learn) with and shoot. This will be a great class or classes depending on what you want to learn as well as excell in. Proper equipment-spending your money right the FIRST time - proper cleaning- shooting technics- etc.
Also our precision reloading classes will be of some value for many shooters as well some who already compete. As I said it will be your choice of what you want to schedule. Saturday and Sunday schools will be availible as through the weekdays for shooters who have vacation they want to use or for folks who are fortunant enough to be retired.

Our tactical/hunting/benchrest schools have done really well with some local guys shooting from 50 yards to one MILE on our walking course. Normally three steel targets per station at different yardages and angles. Range estimation is challenged and lasers are permited only after you try useing your reticle if you have one that's capable. These classes are fun and very rewarding. At the end of the day you have learned something about yourself.

For more info please contact me at yogishooter@msn.com or by phone at 740-545-5002 or 740-502-6530 anytime.

More details will be posted here as well as our newly updated website www.ohio1000yd.com

I for one am glad you are making a "GO" of this idea.I know you have a wealth of information in your head.

It was a few years ago that I first showed up at Thunder Valley with my .308 AR10.I thought to myself while sitting sitting at bench #9,"Man this 1000 yards is a long way to make a shot.".I took the first shot and saw my bullet impact the lower berm close to the clay I was aiming at.At that point I was hooked.I met other shooters that day willing to help me.I was also beat by a nine year old boy(J.P. Lucas). The whole first experience was amazing to me.

Time moved on I had a .22-250AI and a .223 Rem and various handguns and shotguns but I didn't have a bolt action rifle that would give me the accuracy that I was wanting for 1000 yards. So I worked out a trade with a guy and got a 7mmRemMag.It worked for me at the time. Now I needed a .308 for the next .308 Challenge.Off comes the .22-250 barrel on with the .30.(Thanks Clay it still hammers.)Later that year I had the 7mm rebarreled to .30.That is now a .300 WM .Accuracy was finally at my reach, and that rifle has it.That shooting season moved on,and Tom was having success with his .300 Hulk cartridge.I was impressed.I was time to build another on that cartridge.Needless to say it again but,I will. IMPRESSED.That thing is capable of accurate mile shots(groups). My latest is that .223 that I had it got to a little over 10,000 rounds through it.Time to rebarrel. It currently has a 28" HV taper Kreiger barrel.I went with the .223 again but this one is throated for an 80 grain Berger.I figure I can still shoot a great distance with it and learn the wind with it too.I know it will not be competitive in the 1000 yard game but it will be fun at less cost.

All this time I described what I had.I guess I was building up to the point.Tom has helped me to get to that point that I was trying to acheive.I know without his help,I would be nowhere close to where I am today.I explained to Tom early on I wanted to learn my rifles. He knew what I was talking about.I didn't want to learn the Benchrest game but learn my rifle. In the field, where it matters the most to me.He took my lessons in that direction.I think he succeeded.I still have more to learn, but that will come with time.
