guess..look for brass built up on the tool..
use this product, I need to ask a few questions. Is this a reamer as well as a length trimmer? Why are you using a reamer? What are you trying to do. Understand that BR shooters seldom use reamers and see no reason to.My rcbs three way cutter is scoreing the inside of my case necks. Anyone know the cause of this and the remedy.

The tool is designed to trim to length, deburr the inside and the outside of the neck in one operation.
Are you lubing the inside of the case neck before trimming?
What kind of die are you using? Some dies oversize the neck so badly that it will score the inside of
the neck, that can be done with a regular trim button also.
I use this tool on .223 and .308 cases that are used in semi auto rifles. When I switched to a bushing
die with .001 or .002 smaller than bullet diameter bushing and lubed the inside of the neck, the scoring
ceased to be a problem.
New Lapua .308 brass is way under the diameter I want to seat bullets into. I usually run a K & M expander into them before I perform any work on them. Even then, there's more neck tension than I prefer.
