Was checking out the used guns at a small local gun shop and ran across a 22 target rifle that sure looked like an old Steven's 416.
Only marking that I could see was "Ranger .22 Long Rifle" stamped on the barrel.
It had an unusual Viva receiver sight on it,also.
Searched the web and this is the closest item that I could find. The receiver sight is exactly like the one in the gun shop but the barrel doesn't appear to be as heavy as the one in the gun shop.

"Supposedly they were made by a couple of guys in Gainesville,TX. who shot competition and built their own guns."

Hope you guys can contribute some info on this gun.

Ranger Arms was located in Gainesville, Tx. in the 60's and 70's. Michael Petrov who writes for ""Precision Shooting", can answer your questions. I think he is on this forum sometimes. James
