I don't know if this has been floating around on the Yellow Forum as I very rarely go there. I just got my December issue of Airgun World magazine (I hate that it takes until the middle of the month after for "us" to be able to buy it here when our friends in the UK would have gotten theirs sometime during mid-November, a full two months before).

Anyway, in that December issue they have a section titled WHAT'S GOING ON? with a subtitles of THEOBEN SHUTS THE DOORS followed by:
"We're truly sorry to be the bearers of the sad news that British airgun legend Theoben has ceased trading. Details as to why weren't available at the time of going to press, but we've heard that moves are afoot from a number of interested parties who'd like to buy the company as a going concern. Let's hope that the right buyer can be found soon, so that this great brand can continue to make the excellent guns we all know and love."

Sorry to be the one to be forwarding this news, but there you have it.

Very sad news indeed Dave, apparently they shut shop in October.

Prices for these fine rifles have started to rise and I have to be honest I've jumped on the bandwagon and bought a TTR1, nice rifle.

Might not be all bad news though, the word on the street is Daystate may be taking them over, but that's just a rumour.

Rapid Air Weapons and Theoben

Rapid Air Weapons according to Martin Rutterford has been and will continue PCP manufacturing of the RAPID and the MFR PCP. Parts and Services will be available there. These rifles will continue to be available from Theoben USA and their dealers. Dave Slade is the Theoben USA distributor. Any one interested in purchase of either brand can contact me. The fine Spring and gas piston rifles as I understand it, are in the hands of the receivers in the UK.

Good news. Martin certainly comes out top for customer service in my book.
