Well - Claire and Sarah have moved up in ranks again. Claire started about 4 years ago with a state win in Archery and a trip to NASP Nationals. We tried to find a nearby Archery competition but all we could find was a county 4H BB Gun team. Sarah joined in and the two joined the team. Both did fantastic winning medals at the Georgia Games as well as a team finish at State of 5th.

Claire ended up qualifying for Nationals IBBGCM in Kentucky where she placed 10th nationally in standing.

So last year they shot their first smallbore NRA match. There was a few scoring errors and at first Sarah won - then it was determined a tie between the two.

Here are the pics:

Well after all the scores were checked and verified by the NRA we now have three National Records. Claire for Women and sub-junior, Sarah for intermediate junior.

Couldn't be more proud if I had won them myself (no chance of that).

If more women started shooting competitively, men wouldn't win anything. They seem to be naturals once they get started.
Congratulations to both of them

Awesome for you and your girls!! As a father of two girls also, times spent with the girls is priceless, especially like that.. My almost 19 yr old has moved on from shooting with Dad to martial arts involving swords . But both are still Daddy Girls.....

Congrats to the Girls & you... Good job....

That is great! I hope they stick with it and can find a good small bore/air rifle coach and club. Girls that really have the aptitude always do better than guys. For years girls have been my top shooters at least until last year when my really gifted female got bogged down with three majors and decided her 3.7 GPA needed a little work. She dropped off a bit but is now in med school (4 year NCAA letter winner). Get your daughters in a good club and find a god coach. Trust me, rifle shooting females and get scholarships in NCAA D1 programs. Plus they will have a lifelong sport like no other.

If you look at the pictures they seem to be well trained to use the correct position while the guys are trying to muscle the rifles around.
