The 100 Yard Target for River Bend's Next Match

To add some interest for the unsanctioned 'Target Rifle' class at the next match we are going to shoot at both 50 yds and 100 yds. I am going to use the IBS 200 yd target. We will shoot 5 shots at each bull for a 250 total. Each bull's X can only count as one X to avoid scoring problems. This means a perfect target would be a 250-5X. There aren't really enough sighters but this won't be a huge issue for the typical Target Rifle competitor.

You might look at the IBS 22 rimfire 50 yard target. That bull was lifted directly from the IR 50 100 yard target
 
I have a curiosity question? Back when IR 50/50 first started there was also a USRA Ultra 100 target. It was red in color, and the original ones that I still have had Shooters News and the old Federal Gold Medal as the advertisers. Does such a target still exist?

I suspect it died with Milt. Actually the matches were discontinued well before then. There was not enough interest to continue the matches. Black Creek hosted what I think was the only State match and the turnout was low consisting of the Black Creek regulars and a few from Hagerstown. One of the guys from Richmond was tasked with developing an IBS 50 yard score match target. He used the dimensions of the Ultra 100 bull but made it a 25 bull target. The Ultra 100 had only 20 Bulls if my memory is not totally gone.

You are correct the, the Ultra 100 only had 20 Bulls, and three sighters. So your memory is still intact.

It just hit me that with the format I am going to use I could measure the groups and give out an attaboy [or maybe even $5 !!!] for the small group. The group in the lower lh target measures about .330.
