I finally got a wide variety of match ammo in so I can find out what my new purchases will do. Will have to squeeze range time in between Thanksgiving company arriving this week.

- Anschutz 64 Match which is already setup and has shot in some area ARA matches. Pulled the tuner as was suggested here to test for best ammo.

- CZ 453 Varmint - brand new out of the box (actually arrived Friday). The new 453 Varmints barrel comes completely floating. Picked up an 3/8 > Weaver adapter at gunshow today and mounted the scope.

Seems like everyone in our club has a 452 as an extra and all enjoy shooting them in informal club matches sooo, I jumped in tooo.

Have been learning a lot here as well as some of our club folks. We'll see in a few days if I have targets worth posting.

Thanks for all the help and tips.

Update - 513T, Anschuts 64, & CZ 453 Varmint

Just back from range with my new CZ 453 Varmint, Annie 64, and Rem 513T. Was testing 8 different match ammo's to see what did best in each rifle. SK Rifle Match was #1 and Wolf Match Target was #2. CCI Green tag was very worst in all guns.

Just a great day at the range. The 513T out shot everything until I added tuner to the Annie. By the vertical spread, I'd guess that a tuner would help the CZ.

Sounds like fun

Do not be afraid to try ammo with different velocities. SK high velocity round nose lead is always worth a try. If your CZ really likes it, it will offset the slight extra wind drift. Lapua Polar Biathlon and SK Pistol Patch also have different velocity and pressure curves.

I have not found anything to replace Eley Team EPS in one rifle I own. It is now priced over our ammo price limit of 7.00 a box.

These Club shoots are a hoot.
