I took a little break from my rimfire project, i had to get caught up on some "wifie" projects. Besides my brain needed a little relief, i got dead rim fire brain cells knee deep!
I had just got my Harrell tuner in and was about to work on that project when i "went on hold", lol. I had posted a pic of my tuner with a weight taped on the end a few weeks back... well a nice member here at Benchrest Central, Mr Wallace Putnam sent me a set of weights that he builds on his Haas TL1 lathe. I might add they are perfect in fit!
Being as they are all aluminum -they are longer than the steel weights, in the below pic i think that's 9oz on there. I think maybe the report is a little more quite than just the tuner itself.
I ran out of time today and only put about 40 rounds down the tube... maybe a lucky guess but 5 shot groups, all were touching -just a bit of vertical if anything. Tomorrow i will start working on changing some "clicks".
I don't know how to watch wind flags, i have 2 set out that i'm learning with -I think... Now i'm starting to wonder if i had a good gun i probably wouldn't know it, lol. I just got to keep shooting and get more practice, anyway i'm having fun.
Mr Putnam i want to thank you for the weights! I have some Eley i got from Mr Joe, Mr Pappas sent me the front rest.. mr Douglas took the time to copy and send me an article out of Pro Shooter mag, even though we don't see eye to eye. When someone that disagrees with you and helps anyway -thats very nice! Mr Fred J and Mr Kent have been guilty of helping me also! Sometimes i feel like a homeless guy on the corner, lol...
If you want to check on a set of these weights you can PM Mr Wallace right here @ BC -thanks everyone for the help!! joe
