Know ye that I Frank Tirrell was presented by his Grace one Larry Birchfield at our match Sat. a one of a kind............ BIRCHFIELD OMNI WIND INDICATOR
Be it also known that it was made from the much famed Mayonase/Mason jar previously used by his Grace to house those secret straight out of the can ga-ron-teed 10X WAZOO pellets he been a whalin' on us with. The top contained 5 holes- one in the center and 4 on the outer parimeter with coresponding compass directions.
Yep, N-E-S-W Larry said jus point her north and you was ready. The outer rim just under the cap was decorated with several yellow flowing down ribbons. When fired up the bellowing incense gave wind direction and the ribbons wind velocity. I used it on second target and won the match. Most of the time I could not see as the smoke rolling over the gun blinded me.When inhaled ONE JUST DRIFTED OFF INTO LA-LA LAND. When the little voices said shoot.... I did! I could have swore I heard faint chanting and bells in the distance but it could have been the wind as we had a bunch............
My thanks to you Mr. Birchfield for conciderin' me worthy of such a prize......It shall be treasured.
Frank

Frank,
I couldn't think of a more deserving person to give that award to. And by the way was that a new barrel that you had on your gun. It looked like one of those tensioned carbon fiber barrels that I've been hearing about.

Well I been trying to keep the lid on the bbl thing until I had it fully tested. That's the deal I made with the maker. One of the things I do know is the one inch diameter makes a real difference.

Frank

Maybe a new secret weapon?

And I thought it was just a barrel condom. You know, for safe shooting and all that. :D Might have been the affect of the incense fumes blowing down my way.

Mike

Brother Mike do not know what to tell you......the affects here have not yet worn off.
Great shooting the other day! We certainly always enjoy seeing you show up. You are a great competitor and we enjoy shooting with you.
Any time one has to hold off on the outside of the black at 5 o'clock to get near a 10......there is some wind out there.
I believe I am going to look into getting the concession on Rosery beads and plastic Jesus statues at the next match. Garonteed good sellers.
I will have to check with Sir Birchfield and see what that will cost me.
Now, if Lil David ever quits building guns and gets some wind flags AND figures out how to use them AND if he ever finds out that Larry is BS ing him on the rules stating that every third pellet the skirt goes in first.......we all going to be in a world of hurt.
What ever happened to them days like last year when it got dead on that range?......Must be the global warming thingy........Damned Al Gore!
Somehow I believe there is a giant conspiracy afoot here in the shooting faternity. A year or so ago I was shooting at a 1/8 bull getting comfortable and all and doing pretty good. Now that grapefruit sucking Florida feller named Steve George shows up with a target with a spot so damned small you need 20-10 vision just to make it out................ and now find out I need a gun that has to shoot three times as good to be just as competitive..................Sumpin wrong wid dis pichure.
Frank

I think the effects of the incense have about worn off now. At least the double vision has cleared up.

Thanks for the complement. Always enjoy shooting with you guys as well. It makes for a fun change from the usual field target stuff I usually do. Have to say though that 20+ mph gusts make for a challenging time. I got totally confused trying to watch all of yours and Larry's wind flags, when they were pointing in 3 or 4 directions at once. I finally gave up and just shot when the wind on my face felt still.

Definitely watch out for David, he is a sharpshooter. You just need to get one of those March 8-80X scopes like he was using, then the tiny targets won't look so small. A shame it won't make them any easier to hit.
